2 year old thoughts

Will is thinking about "helping" daddy by handing him a screwdriver.

Will is thinking why his mommy's stomach is so large. (This was 3 weeks ago!)

Will is thinking about Santa and the yogurt pretzels he gets for smiling.

Will is thinking that this school thing isn't as cool as playing
with Mater and Lightning McQueen.

Will is thinking that he actually is the Prince of Darkness.

Will is thinking about running away from the goofy camera.

Will is thinking he plays football like Tony Romo. Seriously!

This is a short video of ol' school Acapella singing Criminal on the Cross.
Their soulful performance is so moving! So glad I'm saved like the criminal on the cross!

Wish I knew how to directly put the video on my blog!

Tony and I have been having tons of fun putting together jigsaw puzzles after Willster goes to beddy bye. We picked this one out last week. I loved putting together the New York taxis and the gorgeous Christmas Tree!

Almost 30!

Guess what! I'm excited about turning 30! 20's were fun and very interesting. College, marriage, career, and motherhood were such a transitional learning experience for me.
Sure, you never start learning and growing. I just feel like I'm embarking a time in my life when I can feel more confident and comfortable. I'm also more thankful too. I'm happier. I know how much God is working and I'm excited about the plans He has for the future. It's weird, but I feel like I'm 18 again about to embrace a new world. BEING 30!!!!!

My parents cashed in some of their hotel points and hooked me and my sweetie up for a 3 day trip to NYC! We will be spending my 30th in New York! So so so excited! I can't wait to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree, Bloomingdales, a Broadway show, The Met, and lots of pizza. I look forward to this time with my hubby. I think it will be a trip to remember. Tony went to NYC with one of his brothers a year before we got married. He loved it and is very excited to go back. Any suggestions or recommendations????

Just stuff

Will had to try on one of his new outfits for fall!
(actually mommy had to see how it looked!)

Hey! It's been awhile since I last posted. Life has been a whole lot of fun! So, I decided not to teach the little pre-school thing. When I signed up, I was not preggo. When I taught school while preggers with Will, I caught every single illness one of my students had. I was on antibiotics about 6 times. Scary. To be on the safe side, we thought it would be best to just continue what we are currently doing. . .fun stuff.

So, I'm just going to make sure little man goes to toddler time at the library, plays at open rec, sees his buddies, and takes naps so i can take naps. by the way, i love naps. SELFISH?????

Just read another AMAZING book that Rachel B. recommended. I can totally see why. I noticed that Barbara said she had read it 3 times. Lori G. has also read it. It's called Redeeming Love by Francine Peters. This book is about how much GOD values us. How worthy we are in HIS eyes. I needed this book. Before this book, I thought I would never be as close to Him as I was in high school/junior high. I messed up some in college and felt like I just didn't how to be close to Him or His will. This book helped me realize that God has never given up on me. It's such a worthy read and I look forward to reading it again. I hope each of you reading this entry will read Redeeming Love. I went to the library last night and I saw it there.

Makes me feel good that so many of my ol' buddies are blogging. I just noticed that Whitney started! I thought about this the other day: God gave me SUCH good friends when I was young that those relationships sustain me. I find it difficult to make new friends because they can never compare with the ones I have now. Thank you to all my friends out there. You are good to me!

Took Will to the "psssssh park" today. Psssssh is code for fountain. He loves water. He doesn't mind water getting in his face at all. He plows right through it. Will kisses my belly and says that there is a baby in there. Makes me feel so so so excited and happy!!!!! We will probably find out the sex of the baby. We think it would be too hard to wait.

OK, gotta go do something really important. . .take a lil' siesta!!!! I have found that if I don't rest for about 30 minutes. . .I'm no good for the rest of the day. Will takes a lot of energy out of this mama!!!!!

I did it!

So, if you read my really silly blog entry about smart people you know I challenged myself to read a whole book.

I actually finished the best book I have ever read in my life. It's called The Hiding Place. I must have wept at least 8 times through out the whole book. The story takes place in Holland during WWII. It's about a wonderful Christian lady name Corrie Ten Boom. She and her amazing family go underground to courageously help the Jewish people. The main character and her sister have so much courage, backbone, and faith in God. You won't believe what they go through.

If you need a book that defines Christianity, this is it! It will blow your mind and change your life.

I checked to see if you could check it out at the library and it is available at several branches.

I heard about this book because my very well read mother-in-law wanted me to read it. Prior to her reading it, Becky (Ali's sister) told her about it. These two ladies read like it's going out of style. They have AMAZING vocabulary.

The book is a little over 200 pages. The best 200 pages you will have read in a long time.
Anybody have a good book to recommend??? I'm starting To Kill a Mockingbird. Think I was supposed to read it in High School or something. I must have had some shopping or talking on the phone to do.

Exciting Times

We really, really enjoyed seeing our baby yesterday! The sonogram is such a reassuring piece of machinery!
We could see the baby's cute little head, arms, and legs. We got to hear the heartbeat also. She showed us the super cool yolk sack too!
My official due date is March 5th! 3-5-08. . .an addition problem!
I have a feeling this one is a boy. . .who knows!!!!!!

Scary thought

This will be a short one. . .

What if Nicole Richie and I share the same due date???? Oh my gosh!
The next logical step for her is motherhood????? What in the world?
Hopefully, the baby will inherit some of his/her GRANDfather's talent.

I go to the doctor on Wednesday (Aug. 8) for my first sonogram! I should show you all a picture of myself because I feel like I'm already showing. Or, I'm trying to convince myself that it's not all the PASTA I've been eating.

Thoughts on smart people

You know what, I am really thankful for dishwashers. I usually load and unload it everyday. I'm really glad I don't have to hand wash dishes. I would be washing all day long. I'm really thankful for the person who invented such a great thing.

Sometimes, I will be driving and think of how smart people really are. For example, some really smart person designed the TXU utility plant. How do the smart people know how to create energy and successfully transport it to our homes?

How do smart people know how to plan, design, and build bridges that allow millions to safely drive over them? How do they pour the concrete?

How do smart people know how to design and build airplanes? Skyscrapers? Computers? Artificial hearts?

I really need to get back to reading. When I read, I really feel my brain getting exercise. Research says that when you learn something new, you get a new wrinkle in your brain. Interesting.

Tony got me a book for Mother's Day. I read the first four pages twice. That's it.
I find myself reading silly magazines and baby care books before I go to bed. Nothing I have to commit to. I can do better.
So, I'm going to make it a goal of mine to read more.

I may not invent anything in my life. . .fine with me. I'm just truly thankful for those smart people out there. I gain so much from their intelligence.
As for myself, I commit to reading one book within the next two weeks. Let's see if I get any more wrinkles.

I'm so glad that I have some blogger friends. Thank you Leilanni, Ashley, and Rachel for taking the time leave a fun comment or two. I LOVE each of your blogs. I'm still learning how to manipulate this new e-world.

I just love summer. Summer. Summer. Summer. I even like the word.

I love the freedom summer brings. I think you can see it in people's faces. It's like we know there's watermelon, hot dogs, parades, and the sound of cicadas very near.

Plus, I love Will's little legs hanging out of shorts. I really love it when he runs around the house with his diaper on. He waddles like a duck and shouts out something for me to do. Usually involving retrieving some milk or wishing he had a lollipop. Great stuff!

All three of us went to Chili's tonight to share the fajitas. On the way there, I told Tony that God really knows what he is talking about when he says that children are a gift from him. He truly loves ALL His creation by blessing us with children.

Peace

I'm excited about starting this blog! I have always enjoyed journaling. In fact, when I was a little girl I remember writing/drawing in a pretty sparkly journal with a unicorn on the front. I never really liked the unicorn. I just liked the sparkly part.

While taking Will on a walk last Monday night, the 39th storm of the season was about to blow through. So, I started running back to our house and I was forced to stop. I could not believe my eyes. In fact, I was wishing we were in West Texas where skies are endless. The sky was dark except for a ray of sunlight pointing directly at the tall pine trees in our backyard. All the sudden, a rainbow formed a half circle in the sky right before my eyes. I pushed Will in our driveway, started shouting for Tony to check it out, and ran into the house for the camera. I was hoping the batteries were still fresh so I could get a good shot. I ran right back to the front yard with camera and camcorder in hand.

Will was looking at me like I lost my head. So, I picked him up and started telling him about God's RAINBOW! Tony held him while I got some more shots. The rainbow started moving with the weather. So, I moved with it! I even ran down to our neighbor's house so she and her girls could see it.

I thank God for his display of majesty that Monday night! I was having a rough weekend/day. I'm VERY glad he decided to show me his awesome definition of PEACE.

So, for now I'm calling my blog "Over the Rainbow". I like thinking that my life is like that Monday night walk. Even in those dark and scary times, God has shown me peace in a way that He only can.
